Wired explica cómo las cadenas se han unido para no cometer el fiasco mediático del 2000.

"Doing the actual exit polling are Edison Media Research -- the exit poller for the New York mayor's election and the California gubernatorial recall election of 2003 -- and Mitofsky International, which has worked with CNN and did the exit polling for the Russian presidential elections in 1996 and 2000.

The consortium, made up of ABC, NBC, FoxNews, CNN and the Associated Press, promises the computer models of 2004 are more robust and more accurate than the ones deployed four years ago. But that doesn't guarantee we won't have a replay of 2000 -- when network anchors twice offered on-air retractions after projecting Al Gore, then George W. Bush, as the winner, then finally declared that the race was too close to call..."
