El afamado escritor de ciencia ficción (Jurassic Park, Timeline y la más reciente Prey) dió un muy interesante discurso para el Commonwealth Club. Un extracto:
"I have been asked to talk about what I consider the most important challenge facing mankind, and I have a fundamental answer. The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda. Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on a special urgency and importance..."
Así es, el mayor reto hoy es el distinguir entre la realidad y la fantasía, la verdad y la propaganda dice Crichton.
Pero Michael.... quién mejor que tú para ver que no hay separación! Hemos entrado en un nuevo continuum histórico. El de la realidad hiperpuesta, de la virtualidad de lo virtual. Y no creo que regresemos al inocente jardín de Edén... para bien y para mal.
